About Let the Music Play

All right, so I’m an eclectic music lover. I will pretty much listen to music of all genres, but I came of age in the eighties (seniors 1980!). I can’t help but love the music of that era. It was soulful, it was fun, it had a message for the soul. Some of it was silly, most of it was clean but left up to interpretation. It was about loving and tightening up relationships. Most of all, those tight grooves just made you wanna…dance. Even if it was by yourself, that was cool. It’s almost thirty years later , but this music never goes outta style. It may not be on the charts, but its still in our hearts, especially for those of you who came of age during that time like me. I was a certified clubber, peaking during the “Freestyle” revolution.

I began this blog to start collecting and archiving all of the great music that made me dance, think, love and change. I wanted to have a place for folks like me to go to hear it all without having to dig around the internet. So I hope that you enjoy this site. With the videos and audios, I’ll put the words to the songs so you can sing along and info about the artists so you can know who’s behind the music.

If you’re like me, you’ll never forget what you were doing or feeling when you heard “that song”. If thats your “jam”, then let me know. That being said, its time to let the music play.
